Course Description
Why do homework? Homework helps students get better at the skills they have learned in school each day. Turning in homework late defeats this purpose, so it's important that students do the homework on the day it is assigned.
Students are responsible for writing down the daily assignments on a Homework Log. In addition to the work in spelling, reading, writing, math, science, or social studies, students are also required to read an Accelerated Reader (AR) book at their level each night for at least 20 minutes. Students must write down the title of the book they read on the Homework Log.
Parents, when checking your child's homework log, please make sure that he/she has completed the assignments. Ask some comprehension questions about what they read, or ask them to explain how they solved a math problem. Doing so will help your student feel proud of the work they have accomplished.
