Safe Communities Festival Set for March 22 - School & Community Groups Invited to Participate!

SAFE COMMUNITIES FESTIVAL MARCH 22 AT ROWLAND HEIGHTS COMMUNITY PARK

ROWLAND HEIGHTS, CA – JANUARY 21, 2014 – The community is invited to attend the 22nd annual Safe Communities Health and Safety Festival on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rowland Heights Community Park. The festival celebrates the role all facets of the community play in promoting a safe, secure and healthy environment for all to enjoy. The Safe Communities Festival will feature more than 30 health and information booths, entertainment, food and game booths, public safety displays and demonstrations by community groups, Rowland Unified schools and public service organizations. School, community and public service groups interested in providing entertainment for the community stage and/or a booth for activities or food/games as a fundraiser for your organization.

          The Festival comes as the conclusion of the community-wide celebration of Safe Communities Week, March 17 - 21, 2014. The event is sponsored by Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe’s Office, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation Department/Southeast Recreation District, California Highway Patrol – Santa Fe Springs Office, Operation Safe Community, the Rowland Unified School District and the Rowland Unified School District Safety and Drug Alcohol Tobacco Education (DATE) Program.
